In moments of insanity, I have found myself writing stories and sending them off to a couple of Technical Diving mailing lists. Most of the stories involve real people in completely bogus situations, with myself (naturally) as the unwitting hero. I have no explanation for this, except to say that if you've ever seen some of the massive ego's blasting away on some of the newsgroups or mailing lists out there, you can probably appreciate why I'd like to poke some fun every now and again.

So I've decided to post these stories on our site - they're already on a few others, which is rather flattering, considering I did them completely in jest.

I will warn you, some of them contain some harsh language. I have spent a lifetime on the ocean, and there are many "old salts" who speak exactly as I have written - I mean no offense by it - but if you are the sensitive type, just move on to some nice quiet web pages...

There are 5 stories I've written - the first one I called "My Last Dive with McKenney" - John McKenney is a very close friend and partner in many of my films. The story was written to make fun of someone else who wrote a true story about their dive trip that took up 20 pages, and was complete down to the last detail about what he ate and drank on the airplane flight to the dive site. It also served to make fun of John, who is one of the finest divers alive today, but also a guy who always seems to be in the "right place at the right time" - so in my stories, he's always in the "wrong" place at the "right" time. As we say in the business - "payback is a bitch..."

So here they are, each one follows the string from the previous one - if you don't know the players in these stories, you're likely to hate them (the stories, that is) - so don't waste your time unless you're a diver, and have spent at least some time on "TechDiver" or the "Rebreather" mailing lists.
