The Juergensen Marine Heads Up Display!

The Juergensen Marine HUD Module was designed by Will Smithers, who is a Certified Genius (some would say Evil Genius). Be that as it may, it incorporates many cool features which will make Oxygen Monitoring a snap in a variety of different systems. This brief tutorial is designed for the accomplished home-builder, or rebreather mechanic. If you do not understand anything written here, please contact Juergensen Marine directly at (814) 395-9509, or via e-mail at HUD@electricfilm.com. The system has the capability of monitoring and displaying Oxygen response from up to 3 independent sensors. It incorporates a large scale Analog to Digital Converter, as well as a sophisticated Voltage Regulator. It can operate on voltages from 6v to 24v DC. It is recommended that a minimum of 7.2v be used, however. A standard 9 volt battery will work very well with this system. SYSTEM INTEGRATION To integrate the HUD into your rebreather, you will need to connect it to a Oxygen Sensor(s) in some manner. You have the option of using up to three sensors. Lets look at the symbols located on the Left side of the PC board. They read like this:

S1 - Sensor One Input (the Positive + side of Sensor #1)

S2 - Sensor Two Input

S3 - Sensor Three Input

SC - Sensor Common (the Negative - Voltage from all Sensors)

PB - Push Button (Used only for Calibration)

V- - Negative Voltage IN

V+ - Positive Voltage IN

LG - Green Lead from Tri-Color LED

LR - Red Lead from Tri-Color LED
