Juergensen Electric Film Works is a company formed from the former Pacific Media Associates, Inc. which has been in the business of film and television production for 20 years.
The founder of the company is Kevin W. Juergensen. Juergensen has produced over 50 films in his career, mostly documentaries that focus on a variety of wide ranging subjects, everything from human interest stories to natural history documentaries.
In August of 1998, Juergensen's father, William A. Juergensen Jr. died in an industrial accident while working at a job site. William's company had been called "Juergensen's Electric" since 1956, when he began his career as an electrical contractor.
In homage to his father, and his fathers contributions to his company over the years, Kevin decided to rename Pacific Media Associates, Inc. into Juergensen Electric Film Works, thus creating a hybrid of the two companies names and purposes.
"Electric Film," as it is being called in-house, will continue the same direction that the former Pacific Media had been, that of Natural History documentary programs that will focus on the Marine Environment. However, the company plans to expand into new areas of television and feature film development, and expects to begin production of its first feature film in the summer of 2001.
The company will also be expanding into the new medium of the World Wide Web, and is developing plans to deliver its own unique brand of media through the internet. But we've just got our feet wet on the web, so for a while we'll still be learning this new (at least for us) technology.
